subtilitas: Marlon Blackwell - Moore Honey House, Cashiers NC 1998. The angular steel window frame serves as a load-bearing structural element for the roof. It’s depth allows for the storage of the client’s honey crop, which is harvested in the nearby forest. The combination of the offset glass panes and the honey jars not only filters the natural light, but also refracts it and washes the space with a prismatic amber hue. ARRRRRRGH THE HONEYCOMB HIDEOUT… YEAH YEAH YEAH!!
